Please read this fictional letter of Joshua asking for guidance:

"My name is Joshua. I have been appointed the new leader of the children of Israel in the place of our great leader Moses, who led us out of Egypt and is now departed from us. I am completely humbles by this calling and feel very inadequate in trying to take the place of such a wonderful prophet. What advice can you offer on how I could be successful in this new role I have been called to? The people have promised to follow me in the same way they followed Moses.
