Hello everyone :)
I hope you are having a lovely Wednesday :) Your reading for tonight is:
Matthew 4
Pay close attention to the footnotes while going through the chapter, so as to fully understand what really happened. What temptations did the Lord go through? How did Christ respond? And how does Satan tempt us in similar ways.
If you would like, you can write these down in your journal to help you remember because we will be talking about them in detail tomorrow :)
The scripture helps:
The tempter: Satan, the devil
Proceedeth: Comes
Holy City: Jerusalem
Pinnacle: Tower
Cast: Throw
Charge concerning thee: Power to watch over and help you
Lest: Just in case
Dash: Hit
Get thee hence: Go away
Straightway: Immediately
Thence: There
Synagogues: Buildings where those of the Jewish faith met together for religious services
Divers: Different
Torments: Problems, pains
See you tomorrow!

Hello everyone :)
Thank you so much for your participation today! You all are incredible :) Your reading for tonight is:

How could knowing these chapters and verses help you to explain the importance of baptism to those not of our faith? What does Chapter 3 tell us about Heavenly Father, Christ and the Holy Ghost?

Meat: Food
Vipers: Poisonous snakes (often symbolic of wickedness)

Matthew 2
Hello everyone :)
Here is your reminder that your reading for tonight is:
Matthew 2, and matthew 1 if not already read :)
While reading through chapter 2, decide whether you think the wise men found Christ in the manger as we see in the nativity scenes at Christmas. What is your argument?
See you tomorrow!

Welcome Back!
Hello everyone!
I am so excited to get started on the New Testament, and what a great opportunity we have to learn together :) I have already enjoyed getting to know some of you a little better, and hope to get to know the rest of you as well!
Your reading assignment for today is Matthew 1
Is there anything that stands out to you about Joseph's reaction to Mary being pregnant?
Here are the scripture helps found in the Student Manual:
Found with child (v. 18) -- Going to have a baby, pregnant
Be with child (v.23) -- Going to have a baby, pregnant
Of the Holy Ghost (v. 18) - It happened by the power of the Holy Ghost (but he is not the father)
Just (v. 19) -- Righteous
Being interpreted as (v.23) -- Means, is translated.
Knew her not (v. 25) -- Did not have any sexual relations with her
Hope those help with the reading!
I will see you tomorrow bright and early :)
